Oake Meadows Nursing Home, located in the peaceful, residential area of Trull in Taunton, offers expert residential, nursing, dementia, respite and rehabilitation care.

Surrounded by open fields and countryside views, our spacious purpose-built home is split into five smaller communities — each with its own unique character, care specialism, and sense of home. From residential to advanced dementia and NHS-commissioned rehabilitation, we provide a full pathway of care tailored to each resident’s journey.

Oake Meadows is known for its warm and welcoming atmosphere. Despite our size, we never feel impersonal. Staff, residents, families and visitors all describe the home as friendly, comforting and full of heart.

Residents are supported to live as independently as possible, spending each day in a way that suits them — relaxing in the courtyard, sharing home-cooked meals, and joining in with a wide range of social activities and community events.

Oake Meadows Care Home is rated as ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) , across all five of its assessment criteria of ‘safe’, ‘effective’, ‘responsive’, ‘caring’ and ‘well-led’ and is rated highly on carehome.co.uk and google reviews.

The staff without exception have been incredibly supportive and understanding, prioritising mum's needs but also huge empathy for dad too, making him feel so welcome when visiting and helping him to understand what is going on.

🎶☀️ Cameron brought the sunshine to Oake Meadows! ☀️🎶

Cameron Lemmer sung all our favourites and treated us to some fantastic music, including a special Dolly Parton favourite, which had everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves! 🎶🤠

There may not have been much sunshine outside, but there was certainly plenty of it inside! ☀️🥰

☀️🌸 August at Oake Meadows! 🌸☀️

What a wonderful month it’s been! 💙 We’ve packed August full of sunshine, smiles, music and plenty of memorable moments. 🥰

From our Summer Party with the wonderful Danny Jukebox, delicious food and lots of fun 🎉, to getting up close with some amazing reptiles thanks to Phelsuma Farm – Reptiles & Exotics, Somerset. 🐍🦎!

We’ve also enjoyed visits from the incredibly talented Cameron Lemmer and Zara King, filling Oake Meadows with some of our favourite tunes 🎶.

We also brought the summer to a close with a visit from Margetts Superwhip where everyone enjoyed an ice cream 🍦

A huge thank you to everyone who has helped make August so special — residents, families, friends, staff and all our wonderful visitors. ❤️

🐍🦎 What a wonderful afternoon of bravery and discovery thanks to Phelsuma Farm – Reptiles & Exotics, Somerset! 🕷️🐢

Our residents had an amazing time getting up close and personal with some incredible reptiles! From holding and stroking them to learning all about these fascinating creatures, everyone showed just how brave they could be! 💚

It was also so lovely to welcome so many family members who joined us for the visit. Seeing our residents sharing these special experiences with their loved ones made the afternoon even more memorable. 🥰

Meet the Manager – Kayleigh Izzard

Registered Manager Kayleigh Izzard leads Oake Meadows Care Home in Trull, Taunton, with over 16 years of experience gained entirely within the home. Starting as a Carer, she progressed through roles including Senior Carer, Unit Manager and Deputy Manager before taking on the leadership of the home. Her career reflects a deep-rooted commitment to high-quality care and a strong connection to the vibrant and supportive Oake Meadows community.

Kayleigh brings a professional background in dementia, residential and nursing care, along with a compassionate, person-centred approach. Her dedication has been recognised nationally, having been named a finalist in the Women Achieving Greatness in Social Care (WAGS) Awards.

Oake Meadows continues to thrive under her leadership, with ongoing investment in refurbishing bedrooms, enhancing communal areas, and continually improving digital care systems that support more consistent, accurate, and person-led care. The home provides a safe, supportive environment where residents are treated with dignity, respect and individualised attention.

Outside of work, Kayleigh enjoys travel and family time, often accompanied by her Labrador, Daisy — a regular and much-loved visitor to the home who’s become part of daily life at Oake Meadows.

Visitors are always welcome, and Kayleigh warmly encourages families and members of the community to drop in at any time — no appointment needed. It’s the best way to experience the home’s unique warmth and inclusive atmosphere.
